Launched in 2011 by the Drents Museum in Assen, the Netherlands, the Oberösterreichisches Landesmuseum in Linz, Austria, and the Historisches Museum der Pfalz in Speyer, Germany, the European Exhibition Network (EEN) is now a network of seven medium-sized museums committed to strong international cooperation and outreach.

In addition to the two museums in Assen and Speyer, current members include the State Museum of Prehistory in Halle (Saale), Germany, the two Spanish museums – the Museo Arqueológico de Alicante (MARQ) in Alicante and the Museu d'Arqueologia de Catalunya in Barcelona – the Danish Moesgaard Museum in Aarhus, and the Austrian Mistelbach-Asparn-MUseumsZentrum museums: MAMUZ Museum Mistelbach and MAMUZ Schloss Asparn/Zaya.

At annual conferences, members keep each other informed about upcoming projects, explore opportunities for collaboration on exhibitions and share key experiences. The secretariat of the European Exhibition Network is currently held by the Museu d'Arqueologia de Catalunya.
