Guided tours
The exciting visit and its quality are our focus at the State Museum. So please understand that we cannot offer you guided tours of, for example, only 30 minutes.
You may, for instance, choose between our classic ›Great Moments of Archaeology‹ (duration: 90 minutes) and the guided tour ›The Nebra Sky Disc and its Time‹ (duration: 60 minutes).
Are you a group with particular interests? After consultation, we would be happy to offer you an individual theme-based tour (for example craft, art, religion, and much more).
Foreign language tours are possible in English and French.
As part of our regular special exhibitions we provide additional and thematically coordinated group offers.
We are happy to send you information material or advise you over the phone.
If you are interested in guided tours of the temporary exhibition ›Magic – Forcing Fate‹, you will find our offers in the accompanying programme – either on specific dates or individually.
Every Sunday at 10.30 there are guided tours through the temporary exhibition.
Costs: admission only, no fee for the guided tour.
Registration is required. You can book your participation online as well.
Every Saturday we offer a guided tour for archaeologists young and old, exploring the way of life of prehistoric people and their great animal companions.
Guided tour for young archaeologists (5 to 7 years): from 10.15 to 11.15.
Guided tour for older archaeologists (8 to 11 years): from 11.30 to 12.30.
We kindly request that children are accompagnied by at least one adult.
Costs: 2.00 € per child plus admission.
For children (0 to 18 years) no admission fee is required. For adults, the regular or reduced admission fee must be paid in addition.
Registration is not necessary. However, you can book your participation online in advance.
You can always book individual guided tours in the State Museum.
Costs
Up to 15 people (flat-rate): 60.00 € for 60 minutes or 75.00 € for 90 minutes.
For school classes: 2.50 € per person.
For adults, the admission fee must be paid in addition. For children (0 to 18 years) no admission fee is required.
You are also welcome to have an exclusive tour of our exhibition rooms outside the regular opening hours.
